Blink and gone!

Dear Family & Friends, Well I feel like I just wrote an email last week then blinked my eyes and here I am again! I can't believe how fast this transfer has gone. We have only one week left until the next transfer! We have only two more exchanges as well and then we are finished. Alright, recap of the week: Monday night-Tuesday: After P-day, we drove our way to Loughborough for exchanges. I stayed in Loughborough with Sister Mackay. She's from Australia and SO sweet. Most of the exchanges was just finding. We talked to some really great people though! We had one lesson with a lady, Patricia. She's from Lima, Peru. She was just this tiny cute little lady. We taught her from the BOM and committed her to read and pray about it. We also taught a lesson on the street to a black guy from London. He asked some crazy questions and definitely knew a lot about the church already. It was a good lesson though and even in the craziness of City Centre, I felt the spirit testify to him that it was true. I'm sure he felt it as well. We exchanged back at about 5:15 and headed back to Coventry for a dinner appointment at 6:30. After the DA, we went into city centre to meet with Agus. He is just amazing. He told us that he is working from 10 am-12 am every day besides Tuesday and he sends the money home to his family. (I know, it sounds illegal to me too.) But he doesn't complain at all and on his free day, he meets with us. Every time we see him he asks if we have the BOM in his language yet. We FINALLY got it this week and will give it to him on Tuesday. He still can't come to church but we have a vision of him becoming converted and when he goes back to Indonesia, he can teach the gospel to his family and be baptised!! Wednesday: Sister Muller and I were both ill on Wednesday and just SO exhausted so we got permission to stay in for a bit. We did go out though and taught some lessons. We taught Carol and prepared her for her baptismal interview (which she was way nervous about!). Then we had a lesson with Sergiu. Ah, I just love this guy! He is so cool and probably one of my favourite investigators. He's so intelligent and just takes every word in. He has SO many questions. He brought a friend to the lesson as well and they both just loved it all. Sergiu called us that night with more questions too and asked us what we thought about the Nicene Creed. We told him about the 13 articles of faith and he had me read all of them to him and he asked questions about them all. Haha, imagine how I was feeling when I read #10 "We believe in the literal gathering of Israel and in the restoration of ten tribes, that Zion the New Jerusalem will be built upon the American continent and that Christ will reign personally upon the earth and that the earth will be renewed and receive its paradisical glory." As you can imagine, he had a lot of questions about that one! Well, after our lesson we had a dinner appointment and then ward coordination. Thursday: We had district meeting in the morning. We talked about our goals as a district and where we are at and also shared experiences from the mission that we've had that has strengthened our testimony. We had to leave immediately after to Peterborough for exchanges. It's an hour and a half drive and we had to drive out of our mission boundary to get there. Haha. That was fun. I stayed in Peterborough with Sister Seguiera. She's from Brazil and she's a fireball! It was so fun serving with her. Peterborough is extremely diverse and has a lot of Muslims. There are two mosques within sight of each other. But we had some amazing miracles! As we were talking to a lady on the street, another lady came up to us and asked for our phone number! We were totally caught of guard and thought, why does she want our number? Then she said that she was being taught in Portugal by the sisters and that she had just moved to England! I can honestly say that's the first time on my mission when someone has ASKED to be taught. haha. And it was a huge miracles since Sister Sequiera speaks Portuguese! This lady also has a friend that lives with her from Brazil! So cool. Friday: We exchanged back around 2:00 and headed to Warwick for my Dr. Appointment. Good news! Everything was good with my thyroid but my ear is still blocked. He said just to continue using olive oil drops and it should clear with time. So we were also kinda freaking out because Carol was supposed to be baptised this Saturday. As we pulled up to our flat after the appointment we got a text from Carol saying she was confused and wanted to delay her baptism. We tried to call her but her phone was turned off and we didn't have her address because we always taught her in town. So we drove to city centre and walked around the university looking for her. We eventually got a hold of her friend Kathy's number (who was also going to be baptised on Saturday) and got her address. We knocked on the door and she answered! We went inside and just talked to her about how she was feeling. Apparently she had told one of her friends about her baptism and they tried to tell her that the church wasn't true and that she shouldn't be baptised. We all said a prayer together and then we explained that if she wanted to talk to God she needed to pray, and if she wanted God to talk to her, she needed to read her scriptures. So we told her to open the Book of Mormon and just begin reading! She opened to page 530 in the chinese edition and read the scripture about other sheep. We explained that that was the purpose of the BOM to show that God loves all his children. She then told us that in Chinese, the number 530 means "I love you". We testified that God loves her so much and wants her to live with Him forever. She said she understood and felt SO much better. It was a MIRACLE. We all went to dinner after and just tried to help Carol relax. Saturday: The day of the baptism!!! So, a little background. The Coventry ward is just on fire right now. There were 7 people scheduled to be baptised this day so we were getting as many of the members involved in it as possible. A different person was assigned to different people to baptise them. That morning we had to do some of our weekly planning and prepare for the baptism. We met with Carol at the chapel for her baptismal interview with Elder Packer and she passed! She felt much better after that. Also, the font in our chapel is broken at the moment so the stake arranged for a coach to pick everyone up that wanted to come to the baptism and take us all to Warwick. So we all met at the chapel at 4. Our investigators, Sergiu, Sarah, and Kristina were all there! Warwick is only about 15 minutes away too so it was perfect. It was crazy getting it all together but it worked out in the end! The chapel was PACKED for the baptism and it was so cool to see so many people in white. Seven people were baptised that day and it was so amazing to watch. Carol was SO happy and just looking amazing. One of the biggest miracles of all though was Sarah and Kristina. We talked to them after and they said that they both decided they want to be baptised and they want to do it together!! They asked, "What do we need to do to get there?" AH! We were SO happy!!!!! Also, Sergui LOVED it and talked to the Bishop for like an hour after the baptism. Haha. We all came back to the Coventry chapel after for refreshments. It was such an incredible day and one that I will remember forever. Sunday: 7 confirmations in a sacrament meeting takes a LONG time!!! It was so cool though to listen to how individual each of them were. Sergiu was finally able to meet one of the Recent Converts, who also used to be Christian Orthodox, and they talked all through Gospel Principles. YAY!! President and Sister Rasmussen also came to our ward. It was great having them there. After church we went and visited a family in the ward then went to service and then went to a Dinner appointment. We had to go home after and finish our weekly planning! It was an amazing Sabbath. Well, I think that's about the week in review! Sorry it's so long!! I figured that since I don't ever have time to write in my journal, this will have to suffice! Thank you all for your prayers this week! They helped SO much!!! Please continue to pray for the people we teach. I know that this church is true! It's such a blessing to have it in our lives! And because we are among the VERY tiny percent of people who have ever lived to have the gospel, it is our responsibility to share it with others! So get out there and share it with someone :) Love you all so much!!! Have a great week. Love, Sister Jensen <3
